Q. How do I join?
To join Hushstar there is a register button on the right hand side of our
homepage. This will take you to a form where you will need to fill in your
details. Once you have filled in the form it will take you to a page requesting
payment details.
You will then be able to create your personal web page; uploading pictures a
sound track a promo video and CV so you can apply for castings/auditions and
jobs.
When you become a member you are free to cancel at ANY time - see our terms and
conditions.
Q.How much does it cost to join?
You have two membership options - we do occassionally also run offers these will
be displayed when available.
- Regular Monthly: Big saver deal!
£4.50 Per month - £13.50 paid upfront then after 3 months
£4.50 per month thereafter.
- Monthly:
£6.50 Per month - £6.50 paid upfront then £6.50 per month
thereafter
Q.Can I change
between payment plans?
We don’t encourage users to change payment plans. This is due to the way in
which Worldpay who process all payments and subscriptions deal with recurring
payments. When you register you agree a monthly payment fee which cannot be
changed. This is done to protect both Hushstar and its users. However payment
plans may be changed but will result in you having
to first contact us. We will then advise you what you need to do.
Q.Can I cancel my Hushstar account at any time?
You can cancel your
membership at any time, in most instances no refunds can be given, please refer
to our Terms and Conditions.
All options after the intial payment are on a recurring monthly basis
until cancelled.
We recommend you cancel your membership at the end of your paying month. You must also send an email to
support@hushstar.co.uk and advise
us.
Q.How do I stop payments after the initial subscription
period ?
You can cancel your payments please follow these steps:
1: Log in to www.worldpay.com/shopper/admin
using the log in information emailed to you from WorldPay.com when you
paid.
2: Go to the Customer FuturePay Agreements section (near the bottom of the page)
and click the "Change Details" button.
3: This takes you to the Regular FuturePay Agreement Details page. Click on the
"Cancel" button. Note: If the agreement has already been cancelled, this button
is no longer displayed.
4: Confirm the cancellation by clicking "Yes".
Q.What payment methods do you take?
We accept the following cards for payment:
Q.Password recovery, Forgotten
your password?
If you have forgotten your password go to the login page, enter
your user name in the box
then select submit, then enter the answer to the question you
provided when you first registered. Hushstar will send your password to
the email address that you provided when you joined.
Q.How do I change my password?
You can change your password at any time by logging in to your account,
going to My Account and selecting Change Password. You will prompted to enter
your current password, followed by your new password, you will be asked to enter
this new password again to ensure you entered it correctly. Then thats it...
Q.Spam Email?
Only
members can contact you or see your email address. Non users can use a form to
contact you and at no point can they see your email address. As our system only
allows members to see your contact details this stops software and spamming
software from seeing or finding your email address.
As an extra precaution and to avoid spam and unwanted emails being sent direct
to your home email address we recommend you use a "disposable" online email
address ie an Gmail (GoogleMail), yahoo.
We strongly discourage Hotmail as this type of account has proved unreliable at
receiving emails from online systems. To get your Free Gmail Account goto

Security
Hushstar
is a secured website. We will not give any of your details to external agencies
not listed on our site without permission from the user.
Q.Automatic 20 minute log out?
Please
note due to security measures your browser will log you out after 20 minutes of
non activity on our website. Simply log back in to continue.
Q.How do I login?
Once you have joined as a member of Hushstar logging in is quick and easy. On
the Hushstar home page there is a log in link in the
right hand corner. This will take you to the log in page.
On the left hand side of the page there is a box with Log in above it. Enter
your user name (You will have created this when you joined) and password in the
boxes provided. Click on the log in button. Please note due to security measures
your browser will log you out after 20 minutes of non activity on our website.
Simply log back in to continue.
Q.How do I Subscribe to the Hushstar
Newsletter?
With our free newsletter subscription
you can receive a regular newsletter by email. The Hushstar newsletter
will provide you with the latest updates on jobs and Hushstar promotion events.
You can also use the Newsletter link at the botton of every
page.
Q.How do I Unsubscribe to the
Hushstar Newsletter?
You can unsubscribe
to our newsletter by going to the Newsletter link at the botton of every page
and selecting the option to unsubscribe. Or by going to the My Account page and
and then selecting My account, then selecting the My Details button, and untick
the newsletter box.
Q.How do I Create job listing?
Adding a new job to Hushstar is quick,
easy and simple. You do not need to register with the company to place a
listing. Please complete ALL of the fields. When your advert is submitted
it will then be viewed by Hushstar. We reserve the right to refuse and publish
unverified and/or unsuitable listings. To create a job listing goto "Create Job

Q.How It Works
Hushstar is a website where Jobs Casting Agents, Television Shows, Production
Companies and various other agencies can look for new talent. We are not an
agency. You can register as a member of Hushstar online.
Your information and photos can be sent to the casting agent or director or you
can download the application form or further information from our site. The
casting agent or director will then decide if they think you are suitable for
the role.
Hushstar is not held responsible for actions by any companies after you send
your profile. We do not guarantee you will be accepted by any agencies, nor do
we guarantee work or placement with any agencies, for castings or audutions. We
solely operate as a directory source which a member uses to find and apply for
jobs.
Q.If Hushstar Contact You
Hushstar will contact you via email. Emails will always end in @Hushstar.co.uk.
Please do respond to any email addresses ending in anything other than
@hushstar.co.uk they may be a fraudulent company. If you have any doubts about
an email address linked to Hushstar please contact us immediately.

Information
When you apply for a role / restrictions
To apply for any role on this website you need to be member of Hushstar. If you
wish to join Hushstar please

. If you are already a member please sign in and click on the button to apply
for the job. When you have applied the advertiser will view your personal
details and they will decide if you are suitable, they will then contact you
direct.
Uploading Photos, Videos and Sound (Voice) clips
Uploading photos, video and sound (voice) clips is very easy, simple goto
your "My Account
" page. Select one of the Add photo, Video, Voice links.
This will open up a new window. Use the browse button to find the file within
your computer then click on Add to upload your photo, Video or sound file. You
will see a loading icon to indicate your file is being uploaded. Once uploaded
the window will close on its own.
Uploads usually take 1-5 minutes per MB on a high-speed connection, so be
prepared to wait from a couple of minutes to an hour to upload.
Help with adding photos
Hushstar accepts photo files in the following
.GIF .PNG .BMP .JPG .JPEG formats
Our software will format ALL images to Portrait format however to
get the best image quality and size read the following!

- 100 Pixles (3.5cm) wide
by 150 Pixles (5.2cm) high.
All other photos
should be in Portrait format and at least
- 400 Pixles (14cm) wide by 500 Pixles (17.5cm) high. |
Help with adding Video files
You
can upload your video in the same way however converting your video can
take between 1 & 30 minutes, this is done behind the scenes
so you should wait no more then 24hours before your vidoe becomes live.
Your upload limit is limited to 30 Seconds and 15 MB.
If you're receiving
an error with your upload, you might want to make sure that you're attempting to
upload a file that's recognised by us. We currently cannot offer an online file
conversion service, however it is planned very soon.
Hushstar accepts
video files from most digital cameras, camcorders and mobile phones in the
.FLV .AVI .MOV .WMV and .MPG file formats.
Help with adding Voice files
Hushstar accepts Voice clips files in
only .mp3 formats if you have a voice file in any other format you will need
to convert it before uploading. There are many excellent Free programs on the
internet that can do this for you. We recommned you use Google and search for
free converter programs.
Make it BIG...! Hushstar industry and profile
advice
- Make sure that when you create your personal profile you list any roles you
have played in as much detail as possible, flaunt your experience.
- If you are under 16 we recommend when you join you have a parent or guardian
with you to take care of the payment as we take payment via credit card.
- If you are under 16 we recommend because of your age you use your parents email
and contact details.
- If you are under 16 we recommend when you write your about me section in your profile,
you are not too specific and use broad locations ie I goto college in hampshire, do not provide your full address or private information
ie your own mobile phone number.
- Make a show reel and add it to your profile. This will show professionalism.
- Don’t give up! You may not get chosen for a specific role but that does not mean
you will never be chosen. Television requires people of all races, religions,
ages, shapes and sizes depending on the role.
- Ensure that you get as much experience as possible. Some jobs will be unpaid.
This shows determination and enthusiasm… You may get noticed. Remember to keep
all jobs updated on your profile, the more the better.
- Contact other members, share advise and tips. You all have interest in the
entertainments industry... so share it!
How to do deal with suspicious behaviour
Please contact us immediate if you feel uncomfortable with any content or
conversation on this site. We want to keep you safe. The only fee that should be
asked for is the monthly membership fee.
No other fees should ever be asked for. All emails from Hushstar should end in
@hushstar.co.uk.
If you are under 18 years old You must be 18 or over to apply as a member of
Hushstar. If you want to join Hushstar and you are under 18 your application can
be submitted by your parent or guardian.
Registering a minor If you are registering someone who is under 18 please follow
the normal Hushstar procedures (filling the minors details in) to become a
member.
However, there will be some additional information required to submit the
application for the minor. If a minor is placed in a role any contact will be
via the parent or guardian and the advertisers.
Roles if you are under 18 You will not need a professional photographs or a
portfolio to join Hushstar. Good quality home snap shots will be amicable.
Please ensure that any photos you wish to attach to a portfolio of a person
under 18 are appropriate For example: No photos of young girls in bikinis.
When auditioning for a role you will need to be confident, well behaved and
follow directions from the director or photographer. When a person under 18
years old is attending a role please ensure that a parent or guardian
accompanies them.
